Our School Vision, Values and Aims

Our Vision is to be a Parade of Excellence. To do this we need to promote a positive climate at Alexandra Parade Primary School where all our children are nurtured, achieving, active, healthy, included, equal, responsible, respected and safe, so that they may become Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens and Effective Contributors. We aim to equip pupils with the skills and strategies to become independent and successful learners.

To provide a school environment which is purposeful, welcoming, nurturing, child-centred and conducive to excellent teaching and learning through a curriculum showing breadth, depth, challenge and application.

To ensure that the needs of all our young people are supported and that each individual child is provided with personal choice and opportunities to set their own challenging but achievable goals thus enabling them to fulfil their potential.

To foster a sense of justice, self-awareness and personal responsibility.

To develop a compassionate and understanding attitude, which challenges discrimination of all kinds.

To instil a sense of community, self-responsibility and resilience in our young people.

All pupils are familiar with the school vision and are confident at explaining how this translates into actions in day to day school life. The vision is embedded in practice and are explored regularly at assemblies.
